About.
I was born, and currently reside in, a small(ish) town in Northwest Wisconsin: an area situated on the shores of Lake Superior: a truly magical place full of forests, fields, rocky coastlines, and delightful flora and fauna. My creative endeavors began at a very young age. I spent every moment I could outside surrounded by the beautiful Wisconsin countryside, and was fortunate to have parents who loved camping, hiking and the outdoors. Anywhere I went I carried art supplies with me, or if I didn't have them with they were usually the first thing I asked for.
I was, and still am, inspired by things fantastical and the "strange and unusual." Between middle school and high school my artwork took on darker themes and I was inspired by artists like Tim Burton, HR Geiger, Guillermo del Toro, and Frida Kahlo. As I continued on into college my art began transitioning again into what it is now. My work explores the relationship between animals, humans, the earth, and the unknown. My work is an embodiment of my experiences, my ancestry and my philosophies. I often explore things in my art that make us uncomfortable but that have a deep beauty within them. There is a fair sense of the spiritual and a sense of being in my work: sometimes lighthearted and other times dark and violent. My artistic style reflects the only constant in life: change.
If you would like to say "hello," exhibit my work, would like to ask me more about my art, or if you would like to know about my auction contributions for non-profits and other organizations please contact me here. Commissions are welcome.
